We’re a few weeks away from making SpaceChem Mobile available for Android. To fill everyone in, here are the plans:
- Available on Google Play for $5.99, with a free demo version also available
- Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) or later required
- Minimum resolution of 1024×800
- Includes all non-defense levels and all ResearchNet puzzles
It should be noted that, just like SpaceChem Mobile for iPad, this version of SpaceChem is targeted at tablets. While you might be able to run it on a phone (provided it meets the requirements), being able to actually play the game (i.e. selecting tiny things) is highly unlikely.

I would love to see my favorite game ported. However I’m wondering if it would be possible to lower the device specs as 1024 x 800 is greater than the resolution of my nook tablet.
Instabuy for me, it will be so great to replay the game from my couch on my tablet. This will probably be the best Android puzzle game out there, as I can’t find anything as deep as this game.
Great news! I was just wondering today if you’d make an Android version. Glad to see it’s in the works.
I will be very pleased to pay again for the Android version. I love to play on the PC but playing on the tablet will be so much more fun and convenient!
I was waiting for this!
Will gladly pay for it.
Been waiting for it long, but just about last week my tablet’s screen been broken =\
I hope it won’t stay long in the service.
Oh f*** i buy this on steam now if i want to play it every where i go i have to pay again… damn!
however great idea to put it on tablet!!
1024×800? What’s wrong with 768? What do you need the extra 32 pixels for? I would buy this instantly, but my tablet is an HP Touchpad.
@matt: Our Android tablet running Honeycomb has a 1280×800 resolution, but has a 48 pixel status bar at the bottom. We were able to shave 16 pixels off the bottom of the game’s screens, but there’s no way we could do another 32 without serious art tweaks.
What version of Android is on your tablet? How big is the status bar?
I know exactly what you mean, I have no idea if this will work depending on your implementation but worth a shot:

Not sure if you have explored this option for the status bar or decided against it but will link it here as well:

Android 4.0 ICS reflects the flags a lot better but still:

The issue still remains:

@Martin: Thanks! I will check this out.
FYI, every nook color user on ICS(like me) has CM-like installed, and therefor supports full fullscreen, allowing you to hide the taskbar. You’d only need to shave off 16 pixels instead of 32 then(which isn’t great, but doable).
By the way, does $6 mean €6 or €5? I’ll probably buy it either way, I seem to finish puzzlers on the go.
The system bar is gone in 4.1!
Turns out this might only be unique to the Nexus 7 in terms of the tablet UI system bar being gone.
Great news!
Would be good to see support of my phone – Motorola Milestone 2 (A953)
Any chance the defense levels will be added in a future update? A real shame they and the story were cut.
